The Annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year! The festival pays tribute to Mount Pleasant’s local shrimping and fishing industry, offering a boat parade, live music, a craft show, and lots of free activities with the picturesque Ravenel Bridge and Charleston Harbor for a backdrop. Support local and wild-caught to support your fishermen…nothing beats Wild American Shrimp! Sunday, April 27th 11am - 5pm @ Waterfront Memorial Pak.

Heirloom creates working opportunities for the autistic.

April is Autism Awareness Month, and Geoff Weber, founder of Heirloom Cloud Corporation and father of a young man with ASD, is passionate about shifting public understanding and urging other employers to take action.
While Autism Spectrum Disorder presents distinct challenges for those affected — a Mount Pleasant employer sees ASD as his business’ greatest advantage, and is making a substantial difference in lessening the 80 percent unemployment rate for adults with autism.

Patriots Annex postponed, a mixed-use project planned for Mount Pleasant |
A possible rezoning for Patriots Annex, a waterfront development at Patriots Point, was posted at a recent Mount Pleasant Town Council meeting. The project is currently zoned as a WG-C, Cooper River Waterfront Gateway District, and could be change to Patriots Annex PD, a Planned Development District Ordinance. |
