Our editor pick for a perfect Shem Creek happy hour: NICO Oysters + Seafood — Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 PM. The oysters are a steal during happy hour, the wood-fired patio is one of the best sunset seats on the creek, and the cocktails punch above their weight. Pair it with a walk down the Shem Creek boardwalk.

Shem Creek (Waterfront)

NICO Oysters + Seafood

Monday–Friday, 4–6 PM · 201 Coleman Blvd

French-influenced oyster bar with a wood-fired kitchen and one of the prettiest indoor/outdoor bars on the creek. Expect oyster deals, wine, and craft cocktails. Mondays are also a half-off raw oyster night.

Saltwater Cowboys

Monday–Friday, 4–7 PM (5 on the Creek) · 130 Mill Street

Laid-back BBQ-meets-seafood spot with a massive deck right on the water. Their 5 on the Creek promotion features $5 snacks and drinks. Live music throughout the week and Thursday all-you-can-eat oysters.

Red's Ice House

Daily, 4–7 PM (bar areas only) · 98 Church Street

A Shem Creek institution. Cold beer, cheap bites, and arguably the best sunset view in the Lowcountry. Expect $5 beer/wine, vodka cocktails, and bar snacks like fried calamari and jalapeño caps.

Tavern & Table

Monday–Friday, 4–6 PM (bar only) · 100 Church Street

A more elevated take on the Shem Creek scene — chef-driven small plates, flatbreads, and barrel-aged cocktails. Their happy hour specials rotate, but the dockside view is consistent.

Vickery's Bar & Grill

Monday–Friday, 4–7 PM · 1313 Shrimp Boat Lane

Tucked at the end of Shrimp Boat Lane with water on three sides. Happy hour is at the main bar plus the two outdoor bars — Muddy’s and the Shark Fin Bar. Live music in warmer months and a sand-floored dock bar that locals love.

Water's Edge

Monday–Friday, 4–7 PM (both bars and bar seating) · 1407 Shrimp Boat Lane

A Shem Creek classic with one of the longer happy hours in town. Look for $2.75 domestic beers, $3.75 well drinks, $5 select wines, and $10 bar bites — plus a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar at Sunday brunch.

Coleman Boulevard & Old Village

Red Drum Restaurant

Tuesday–Friday, 4–7 PM · 803 Coleman Blvd

Southern meets Southwestern. Wood-grilled steaks, crab tostaditas, and a fireplace patio that earned them a spot on Imbibe Magazine Best Places in America to Have a Beer. Closed Mondays.

The Shelter Kitchen + Bar

Daily · 202 Coleman Blvd

A neighborhood favorite at the corner of Coleman and Mill. Locally-sourced kitchen, daily drink specials, dog-friendly patio, and one of the most consistently busy decks in town. Trivia on Wednesdays, late-night menu Thursday–Saturday.

Bodega

Monday–Friday, 4–5 PM · 302 Coleman Blvd

A short, punchy happy hour — only one hour, but the deal is half off the entire bar. Worth catching at the front end of an evening.

Santi’s Restaurante Mexicano

Monday–Friday, 4–6 PM · 1302 Ben Sawyer Blvd

Mt. Pleasant’s go-to for margaritas and Tex-Mex. Half-priced drink specials and a free appetizer with the purchase of a specialty pitcher.

Belle Hall, Park West & Beyond

Dog & Duck (Belle Hall & Park West)

Daily, 4–7 PM · 624 Long Point Rd (Belle Hall) and 1117 Park West Blvd (Park West)

A family-friendly pub with two Mt. Pleasant locations. House liquor, domestic bottles, house wine, and signature shots like Jameson and Espolon at happy hour prices. Dog-friendly patios and trivia/event nights.

Bohemian Bull

Monday–Friday, 4–7 PM · 2668 N Hwy 17

American sports beer garden in north Mt. Pleasant. $1 off Beer of the Month pints, $1 off domestics, house wines, and liquor, plus $7 select appetizers. Music bingo on Tuesdays and half-off burger night Wednesdays.

Sesame Burgers & Beer

Monday–Friday, 4–6 PM · 675 Long Point Rd

Locally-owned burger joint with $1 off domestics, $2 off well liquor and wine, and discounted bites at happy hour. A quieter, no-frills option in Belle Hall.

Community Table

Monday–Friday, 3–5 PM · 645 Long Point Rd

Half off all wine, beer, and cocktails — one of the most generous deals in Mt. Pleasant. Newer to the scene but already a Belle Hall favorite for an early happy hour before dinner.
