Looking for things to do in Mount Pleasant, SC? Whether you're a local or just visiting Charleston's most beloved bedroom town, here's the guide we actually give our friends — the parks, waterfront, history, family outings, and free activities worth your time, plus how to catch this week's events. Walk or bike Wonders' Way — the 2.7-mile bike and pedestrian path on the Ravenel Bridge, with views over Charleston Harbor. On the Mount Pleasant side, the Visitor Center at Memorial Waterfront Park is the easiest place to park. Go at sunrise or sunset.
Memorial Waterfront Park & the Pier — swings, shade, harbor views, and the 1,250-foot pier that stretches out under the bridge. Fishing from the pier carries a daily fee.
Shem Creek Park — a Town park with a boardwalk along the creek, shrimp boats and marsh views, free parking, and waterfront restaurants steps away.
Pitt Street Bridge & Alhambra Hall — the old Pitt Street Bridge is now a Town-owned greenway over the marsh, and the grounds of Alhambra Hall on the harbor are a free public park. Both are Old Village sunset spots.
Laurel Hill County Park — 745 acres with several miles of unpaved trails through woods and open meadows. Admission is $1 per person, sunrise to sunset.
Patriots Point & the USS Yorktown — the aircraft-carrier museum at 40 Patriots Point Road. Museum tickets and parking are paid.
Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens — the Avenue of Oaks, planted in 1743, plus seasonal events like the fall pumpkin patch. Admission is paid.
Charles Pinckney National Historic Site — a National Park Service site at 1254 Long Point Road, with no entrance fee and free parking.
The Old Village — Mount Pleasant's historic district. Park near Alhambra Hall and walk the streets.
Sullivan's Island & Isle of Palms — both a short drive; Sullivan's for quieter sand and Poe's, IOP for the boardwalk and Front Beach.
No ticket needed for any of these:
Wonders' Way — walk or bike the Ravenel Bridge path.
Memorial Waterfront Park — swings and harbor views by the pier.
Shem Creek Park — the creekside boardwalk, with free parking.
Pitt Street Bridge & Alhambra Hall park — marsh and harbor views in the Old Village.
Charles Pinckney National Historic Site — no entrance fee.
Mount Pleasant Farmers Market — Tuesdays 3:30–7 PM, April through September, at 645 Coleman Blvd by Moultrie Middle School. Admission is free; vendors sell produce, baked goods and specialty foods.
Tiny Lawn Music Series — free evening concerts on the lawn of the G.M. Darby Building on Pitt Street in the Old Village. The 2026 series started May 15; check for upcoming dates before you go.
Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival — each spring at Memorial Waterfront Park, with free admission and activities. The 2026 festival was April 26.

Shem Creek's shrimp boats and waterfront dining, the Ravenel Bridge, Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown, Boone Hall Plantation, and easy access to Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms beaches.
Walking Wonders' Way over the Ravenel Bridge, the Shem Creek Park boardwalk, Memorial Waterfront Park, the Pitt Street Bridge, and the Charles Pinckney National Historic Site are all free, and so is browsing the Farmers Market (Tuesdays, April through September).
Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) bring the best weather and the biggest events — the Blessing of the Fleet in spring, and the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch and Children's Day Festival in fall. Our fall events guide has the full September–November calendar.
