The short answer: Halloween 2026 falls on a Saturday, which makes this the best Halloween Mount Pleasant has had in years. What’s announced so far: the Towne Centre Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct 24, 12–3 PM, free · the town’s Trunk or Treat at Carolina Park on Friday, Oct 30, 4:30–7 PM · Trick or Treat on the Yorktown on Saturday, Oct 17, 5:30–7 PM, now at capacity · the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch on six weekends from Sept 25 through Nov 1, $15 for ages 3 and up · the Hibben UMC pumpkin patch on Coleman Blvd, open daily all October and free to walk through · and after-dark ghost tours on the USS Yorktown, about 90 minutes, from $39. Boone Hall Fright Nights is not coming back, and nothing has replaced it — Mount Pleasant has no haunted house this year.

Halloween 2026 is Saturday, October 31 — worth planning around. Trick-or-treating doesn’t compete with a school night, restaurants and bars run full Saturday service, and the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch is open that entire weekend, Friday October 30 through Sunday November 1. You can do the patch in the afternoon and the neighborhood at dusk.
Two timing details that matter. The sun sets at 6:28 PM on Halloween, so there’s roughly an hour of usable light after most families head out. And daylight saving time ends at 2 AM the very next morning, Sunday November 1 — which drops sunset to 5:28 PM for the rest of the season. Halloween is the last late-sunset Saturday evening of the year.
A normal October 31 in the Charleston area reaches about 74 degrees in the afternoon and drops to about 52 overnight, going by NOAA’s 30-year climate normals. That’s costume-over-a-light-jacket weather, not coat weather — but it does get cool once the sun is down.

Trick or Treat on the USS Yorktown — Patriots Point’s family event aboard the aircraft carrier — trick-or-treating on the ship itself, which is a sentence most towns don’t get to write. Patriots Point’s events calendar now lists the 2026 event as at capacity. There’s no waitlist or second date published, so watch their calendar in case anything opens up.

Mount Pleasant Towne Centre Fall Festival — Free, and the biggest Halloween event in town now that Fright Nights is gone. Trick-or-treating at the shops, stilt walkers, face painting, spin art, balloon animals, caricatures, 30-plus local vendors, food trucks, live music from 40 Years Too Late and dance performances. The pet costume contest is the centerpiece: $10 per pet, all of it to Charleston Animal Society, registration opening at noon at their table and judging at 2 PM. Categories include Best Duo, Best Homemade, Best Inanimate Object and Funniest, and the grand prize is a $500 certificate to Park West Veterinary Associates.

Carolina Park Trunk or Treat — The Town’s own trunk-or-treat, run by Mount Pleasant Recreation: trick-or-treating car to car, a DJ, a photo booth, a petting zoo, and a concessions window selling food. Costumes encouraged. This is the big one for families with little kids, and it’s the night before Halloween, so you can do both. The Town doesn’t publish an admission price or a trunk sign-up — call Recreation at 843-884-8517 if you want to host a trunk.

Halloween in the Park at the Charleston KOA — Campsite-to-campsite trick-or-treating, a costume contest, a site-decorating contest, face painting and a bounce house, right on Highway 17 North. One catch worth knowing before you drive out: it’s for registered campground guests only, not open to the public.

Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch — The big one, in its 30th year. The Berkley Electric Cooperative corn maze (eight acres, plus a one-acre junior maze), a mile-and-a-half tractor-pulled hay ride through Halloween scenes, pig races, a petting zoo, pony rides, mini-golf, live circus shows and pumpkins by the field-full, sold by the pound.

Two things that trip people up every year. The patch entrance is at 2434 N. Highway 17, not the main plantation gate on Long Point Road. And the corn maze and the hay ride line both close 30 minutes before the gate does, so arriving at 6:45 means you’ve missed them. Parking is free, tickets are sold for a specific date, it runs rain or shine with no refunds, and pets aren’t allowed — service animals are. Military and first responders get $3 off, but only at the gate.
Hibben United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch — The easy one. A church lot full of pumpkins under the oaks on Coleman Boulevard, running since 2001 — no ticket, no maze, no line. The pumpkins are grown on Navajo land in New Mexico and harvested by Native Americans, with roughly 60% of the profit going back to the growers and the rest funding church missions. If what you actually want is a photo and a pumpkin, this is the ten-minute version of Boone Hall.

No — not this year, and that’s new. Boone Hall ended Fright Nights on May 6, 2026 after 22 seasons, citing rising operating costs and a shift toward programming the whole family can do together. Nothing has been announced to replace it, by Boone Hall or anyone else, which leaves Mount Pleasant without a haunted house or haunted trail for the first time in two decades. The Pumpkin Patch got the investment instead, expanding to six weekends.
What’s left after dark is one thing, and it’s a real one:
USS Yorktown ghost tours — Bulldog Tours runs evening tours aboard the carrier with access to areas closed during the day, including the flight deck after dark. About 90 minutes. They book out through late October, so reserve well ahead — especially for Halloween weekend. Departure times are only shown in the booking calendar, so check there rather than assuming.

Two practical notes: the tours run rain or shine, but the flight deck closes in bad weather, and the route involves narrow ship stairs — it isn’t stroller or wheelchair friendly. Patriots Point parking is charged separately at $5.50 an hour with a $25 daily maximum.
Here’s the honest answer, which is not what most guides will tell you: the Town of Mount Pleasant does not set or publish official trick-or-treating hours, and it doesn’t publish a neighborhood guide either. Plenty of pages state Mount Pleasant “hours” as though they were official. They aren’t. Timing is left entirely to individual neighborhoods, and most start around dusk — which is 6:28 PM this year.
The Town’s own Halloween programming is the Carolina Park Trunk or Treat on October 30. That, the Towne Centre Fall Festival on October 24, and the Yorktown event on October 17 are the three public, organized options with confirmed times — everything else on Halloween night is neighborhood by neighborhood.
Most of Mount Pleasant’s larger neighborhoods — Park West, Carolina Park, Belle Hall, Rivertowne, I’On, the Old Village — handle Halloween themselves, and what happens on any given street depends on who lives there that year. We’re not going to rank them, because there’s no official source that does and we’d just be repeating rumor.

Halloween on a Saturday means the weekend happy hours matter. As of this update, Dog & Duck runs 4–7 PM daily at both locations, SAVI Cucina’s bar starts at 3 PM seven days a week, and Opal does a tight 4–5 PM window every day. Costume parties and bar events get announced late around here — as of late September, no Mount Pleasant bar or restaurant had posted a 2026 Halloween event with a date and time. We flag them in the Monday newsletter as they go up.

We’d rather tell you what we don’t know than pad the page. As of late September, still unannounced:
Church and school trunk-or-treats — several Mount Pleasant churches run one, but none had posted a 2026 date. St. Andrew’s and Mount Pleasant Presbyterian both still show last year’s.
Bar and restaurant Halloween events — no Mount Pleasant venue has posted a costume contest, party or themed menu with a date. These go up in the first two weeks of October.
Library programs — the county library’s Mount Pleasant branches usually run Halloween events; the October calendar wasn’t posted yet.
Whether the Yorktown releases more tickets — the Oct 17 event is at capacity with no waitlist published.
October oyster roasts — none in Mount Pleasant with an announced date yet.
