Dance over Charleston Harbor
Dancing on the Cooper brings live music and an open-air dance floor to the end of the Mount Pleasant Pier. The series runs on select Friday evenings with views of Charleston Harbor and the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Bands change throughout the season, covering beach and shag music, classic hits, rock, funk, soul, salsa and jazz.

Tickets and age guidance
Advance tickets are $10 per person. If the event is not sold out, on-site tickets are $15 per person and on-site purchases are credit card only. Charleston County Parks lists the September event for ages 4 and up. Buy tickets through the official event page rather than an unofficial ticket listing.
Food, drinks, chairs and pets
Beverages are available for purchase. Food and snacks are available at the River Watch Café and Gift Shop near the pier entrance. Outside food, alcohol and coolers are not allowed. Pets are not permitted on the pier. Seating is limited, so bring a chair if you want one, but keep chairs outside the dance area.
Parking and arrival
The Mount Pleasant Pier is located at 71 Harry M. Hallman Jr. Blvd. inside the Memorial Waterfront Park complex. Free pier parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Carpooling or ridesharing is recommended. A private parking garage in nearby Ferry Wharf is available for an additional fee. Arrive early enough to park and walk to the pier before the music starts.
